Who is Battenkill Valley Creamery?
One of the things we’re most proud of at our gelateria are the products we use, and in the case of dairy, that's why we have chosen to use Battenkill Valley Creamery in our recipes.
From the Battenkill Valley of Upstate New York—this family farm has been in the same family for over a century. Their story began in 1902, when the current generation’s great-great grandfather started milking cows just up the valley. In 1945, the farm moved to its present location, where it has continued to grow and evolve on the very same land.
What started as a 12-cow operation has grown into a 350-cow herd of Holsteins, Jerseys, and Holstein-Jersey crossbreeds—each chosen for the richness and balance their milk provides. That care and intention is something we taste in every batch of gelato we make.
In 2008, after years of planning and hard work, the family opened their own on-site creamery. Today, their milk goes from cow to bottle in less than eight hours. That kind of freshness is rare—and it makes a remarkable difference in gelato. The flavor is cleaner, the texture is silkier, and the dairy notes are naturally sweet and full.
For us, using their milk isn’t just about sourcing locally. It’s about building relationships with people who care as deeply about their craft as we do about ours. When we say our gelato starts with exceptional ingredients, this is exactly what we mean.
Every scoop reflects not only our work in the kitchen, but generations of dedication in the fields of the Battenkill Valley.
